The Redemptorist Order established OLPH in 1955. The Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word provided the first teaching staff until May of 1977. Lay faculty and staff have staffed the school since IWA religious withdrew from the parish. The parish now supports the school and the parish is part of the Diocese of Corpus Christi. The present buildings include the church, rectory, office building, Youth Building, Parish Hall, covered pavilion, two playgrounds, and a storage building.  The parish strives to maintain the present facilities in good repair. The grounds and landscaping are well kept and all beauty to the parish facilities.
